Standard & Poor's 500 is an American stock market index. Its "authority" and popularity are not inferior to the Dow Jones Industrial or the NASDAQ. The first index was developed and represented in 1923 by S&P Dow Jones Indices, which owns the index nowadays. The first S&P500 was calculated in 1957.
S&P 500 reflects the average capitalization of the 500 largest American companies listed on NYSE or NASDAQ exchanges. Due to the wide range of indicators of the shares’ value taken to calculate the index, S&P 500 displays a sufficiently reliable picture about the market of the United States. It is one of the most popular stock indices. As a result, S&P is a trend indicator for the entire US economy including almost 80% of the market capitalization.
ForexGrand offers its clients to trade S&P 500 with a spread of 1.5 and 1:100 leverage. Trading hours: 01:00-23:15 (GMT+2).
