The Australian dollar strengthened due to the improving situation on the labor market
On Thursday during Asian trading, the Australian dollar rose after the publication of data on the labor market. According to statistics, in January the number of employed people in Australia increased by 13.5 thousand people, exceeding target numbers by 3.5 thousand. As a result, the unemployment rate has fell from 5.8% to 5.7%.
The improvement in the labor market had a positive impact for Australian dollar, leaving the currency pair AUD/USD up by 0.05%, reaching the level of 0,7714. Yesterday’s Janet Yellen statement about the interest rates raising has not prevented to the Australian currency strengthening in the pair with the U.S. dollar.
