What are the main terms of the trading report in MT4?

The trading report shows the trading performance, allows you to analyze past operations and to evaluate the status of your account. To generate the report in the MetaTrader4 you should enter the tab «Account history», to denote the desired period and select the option «Save as report» or «Save as detailed report».

The standard report reflects the fundamental trade indicators, namely:

  • Balance is the total financial result at the time of writing of the report;
  • Credit Facility means available credit funds;
  • Closed Trade P/L is the indicator of the aggregate financial result (profit and loss) of all closed transactions for a certain period of time;
  • Deposit / Withdrawal are all funds that were charged/credited to the deposit for a selected period;
  • Equity is the value of the account status, which is determined by the formula: Balance + Credit + Floating profit — Floating loss;
  • Floating P/L is the indicator of the floating losses and profit on open transactions at the time of report generation;
  • Free Margin is the amount of funds on the trading account that can be used to open new trades, it is calculated according to the formula: Equity – Margin;
  • Margin is the amount of mortgage capital that is necessary to ensure open trades at the time of report generation.

The detailed report allows more detailed assessment of trading results. In addition to the standart it also reflects additional data:

  • Average Consecutive Wins is the average statistical quantity of the profitable trades in consecutive profitable sessions for a certain period.
  • Average Consecutive Losses is the average statistical quantity of the unprofitable trades in consecutive unprofitable sessions for a certain period.
  • Average Profit Trade is the ratio of total revenue to total number of profitable transactions for the selected period.
  • Average Loss Trade is the ratio of total loss to the total amount of unprofitable trades for the selected period.
  • Absolute Drawdown is the value that reflects the largest loss relative to the amount of the initial deposit.
  • Expected Payoff is the ratio of net profit to total number of transactions.
  • Gross Profit is the total income for all profitable trades for the selected period.
  • Gross Loss is the total loss of all unprofitable operations for a selected period.
  • Loss Trades (% of total) is the percentage of unprofitable deals to their total.
  • Largest Profit Trade is the deal that brought the greatest profit.
  • Largest Loss Trade is the deal that brought the greatest loss.
  • Long Positions (won%) is the total amount of long positions during the period, in parentheses – the percentage of profitable long positions to total long positions.
  • Maximal Drawdown is the largest loss. It reflects the magnitude of the difference between the previous maximum and current minimum.
  • Maximum Consecutive Wins ($) is the indicator which reflects a maximum number of the consecutive profitable trades, in parentheses there is the monetary value of the total profit from these transactions in the deposit currency.
  • Maximum Consecutive Losses ($) is the maximum number of the continuous unprofitable deals, in parentheses there is the monetary expression of the total loss from these transactions in the deposit currency.
  • Maximal Consecutive Profit (count) is the total amount of profits in one continuous series of profitable deals, in brackets their total number in a particular sequence.
  • Maximal Consecutive Loss (count) is the total amount of the loss for one continuous series of unprofitable transactions, in parentheses there is their total number in a particular sequence.
  • Profit Factor is the ratio of the total income for the period to the total loss.
  • Profit Trades (% of total) is the total number of trades which made profit for selected period; in brackets — the percentage of profitable operations from the total number of transactions.
  • Relative Drawdown is the indicator of the maximum drawdown as a percentage and in money value relative to the initial Deposit.
  • Total Net Profit is the indicator of the net profit. It’s calculated as the difference between the total amount of profit and loss.
  • Total Trades is the total amount of trades which made in the trading account over a certain period.
  • Short Positions (%) is the amount of short positions during the period, in parentheses there is the percentage of profitable short positions to the total number of short positions.
